Kalymnos

Kalymnos Greece is a beautiful island of the Dodecanese, close to the coast of western Turkey. It is located between Kos and Leros. The economy of the Greek Island was based on sponge fishing in the past. The island opened its borders to tourism only recently, after the extinction of this activity, and became famous for the rock climbing. Pserimos is a small islet north of Kos, between Kos and Kalymnos, about six nautical miles north of Kos. Pserimos is a favourite target of day cruise boats thanks mainly to a single huge, sandy beach set in an enclosed and sheltered bay. The Sea Faring Greeks
The Greeks have a sea faring history probably greater than any other nation throughout the world. They have loved the sea, believing it to have godlike powers.

The first descriptions of underwater devices are pointed out by Aristotle as early as the 4th century BC when he describes a prototype diving bell used to supply air for divers using upturned glass jars placed over their heads to contain the air...

Alexander the Great and his comrade Nearch reached depths of 25 meters with the aid of a huge diving bell. This in year 325BC.

In more recent times the rules relating to SCUBA diving in Greece changed. The new rulings opened the waters of Greece for exploration. This means that new and better dive sites are being found by dive centers keen to offer good diving and value for money each summer.
